THE REAL TOOTH FAIRY

Once upon a time, there was a little boy who lost his tooth. The Tooth Fairy went to the little boy's room to get the tooth. While she was there, the little boy woke up. He didn't know about the Tooth Fairy, and he was frightened when he saw a stranger in his room, and he started to cry. The Tooth Fairy was very sorry that she made the little boy cry and she didn't want that to happen to another boy or girl ever again.

So the Tooth Fairy decided from that day on, whenever she visited a child's room, she wouldn't be a stranger. She would make herself look like someone the child knows and recognizes. Since the Tooth Fairy has magic she can look like anyone she wants to look like. And that's why the Tooth Fairy might look like someone's mother to one person or someone's father to another. And for every boy and girl, she looks like someone that child loves and trusts.

Tooth Traditions From Around The World

Children all over the world do something different with their teeth. Some might hide it under a pillow for the Tooth Fairy, or some put teeth in their slipper for a mouse to take. Others, like in Lithuania, just keep their tooth as a keepsake. But if you lived in Germany you wouldn't do anything special at all with your tooth. So remember what someone does with their tooth in America could be way different from what another kid does with their tooth in Japan. So keep an open mind about teeth traditions. There are so many different kinds!
